“I’m very proud to manage this unique centre, and to support its continued development. Working with such creative and passionate people is inspiring; it is a joy to be part of the amazing team at NICA, helping to create a world in which we all live better, for longer – after all, who wouldn’t want that?!”

Trudi Pemberton joined the team in October 2021 as the Centre Manager at NICA. She is responsible for managing internal and strategic projects, developing and embedding new structures and processes, as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations and continued business planning process.

Her role involves working closely with the National Innovation Centre for Data and the wider Catalyst community to ensure the award-winning building continues to be a beacon for innovation. Trudi manages NICA’s programme of events and exhibitions at the Catalyst, showcasing innovations in product design and engaging the public in Ageing IntelligenceR.

Trudi has worked at Newcastle University since 2014, with various roles in research, finance, and project management. Her background is in Linguistics and she is interested in learning more about the language used in relation to ageing and longevity, and the impact this can have. She believes strongly in life-long learning and continuing professional development and is a member of the Association of University Administrators (AUA).
