Tina Woods joins NICA as Healthy Longevity Champion

We are thrilled to announce that Tina Woods has joined NICA as our Healthy Longevity Champion.

Partnering with NICA, Tina will help to accelerate Ageing Intelligence® and further secure UK Research and Innovation’s strategic aims to ensure better health, ageing and wellbeing in the UK and globally, as well as inform the innovation missions set out by the new National Science and Technology Council.

While developing the UK’s global leadership in science and technology, Tina will support the ambitions to aggregate and accelerate a national federated, open, data-driven, knowledge and insight epicentre harnessing ethically-driven AI to scale societal and commercial impact and meet the UK’s Levelling Up missions to increase healthy life expectancy and close the gap in health and wellbeing inequalities.

Tina will also help us to sustain and enhance our programmes, with a particular focus on Longevity as a Service, City of Longevity and the Internet of Caring Things on a national and global scale. Welcome Tina!

About Tina Woods

Tina Woods is a social entrepreneur who brings diverse stakeholders together to address the system changes needed to improve health for all. She is Founder and CEO of Collider Health and works with private, public and third sectors, including UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)’s Healthy Ageing Industrial Strategy, NHSX AI Lab, and emerging Integrated Care Systems.  She is the Healthy Longevity Champion for the National Innovation Centre for Ageing, aiming to accelerate ageing intelligence and secure UKRI’s strategic aims to ensure better health, ageing and wellbeing in the UK and globally, as well as inform the innovation missions set out by the new National Science and Technology Council.

Tina is director of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Longevity secretariat and leads the Open Life Data Framework. She is Co-Founder and CEO of Business for Health, a business-led coalition of socially responsible employers, purchasers, investors and innovators that is developing a Business Framework for Health with the CBI, bringing in ‘Health’ into ‘ESG’ mandates to support long-term sustainable innovation and investment in preventative health and care. Tina’s book, ‘Live Longer with AI: How artificial intelligence is helping us extend our healthspans and live better too’ was published  in October 2020. Tina sits on various advisory groups, including the BSI standards group for AI in health and care, and the Ada Lovelace Advisory Board on Health Inequalities.
