As Cluster Manager for the Internet of Caring Things (#IoCT) Claire Robinson had the pleasure of heading up to Northumberland today to mingle with businesses from across the North East who are keen to explore the future of the rural economy.

The Rural Catalyst Conference organised by the National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE) was a very busy and vibrant affair. Lots of case studies and conversations about the future of the rural North-east, taking care to not repeat the past or at least learn from it.

Time for networking

The full day event focused on various key topics and themes such as exploring the rich diversity of the rural economy, showcasing national-leading innovation in rural enterprise, debating the future of the rural North East and how we can come together to contribute towards solving challenges faced by rural communities.

The full day event was designed to bring together people from different sectors, industries and perspectives to combine knowledge in tackling rural challenges.
