Lynne Corner and Alex Mitchell at Singapore Feb2023

Director Lynne Corner and Strategic Partnership Manager, Alex Mitchell head over to Singapore to expand VOICE.

Our job is innovation  in both ageing and longevity, and we know that innovation must not only be understood, supported, and followed but also interpreted and anticipated. That is why we are developing our network and presence in different parts of the world, particularly in East Asia, to engage people with different experiences and cultural backgrounds from ours. This will help us and develop the shared ageing intelligence that we believe can help us accelerate change for the planet we would like to live on in the future.

The timing of this visit was ideal as UKRI Healthy Ageing Challenge has just announced a new funding opportunity from Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation. This funding will be in the region of up to £5 million in innovation projects in partnership with Enterprise Singapore.

With NICA’s Deputy Director/ VOICE Director Lynne Corner and our Strategic Partnership Manager Alex Mitchell already in Singapore this week talking about collaborative business opportunities, the timing could not have been more opportune.

Ageing and longevity are global opportunities and require a global vision. There is a need to understand the dynamics, cultural differences, and people’s interests and needs. VOICE is on a mission to East Asia to discuss how to broaden our UK National Innovation Centre’s ageing intelligence network and connect the experiences of the VOICE community with those of people in other countries.
