The Internet of Caring Things 'Wearable Technologies of the Future'

The IoCT “Wearable Technologies of the Future” event

Programme Manager – North of Tyne Combined Authority/IoCT Jennine Jonczyk opened up proceedings at our IOCT  ‘Wearable Technologies of the Future event by introducing our work and team.

Dr Simon Johnson, Chief Technologist from CPI then shared his expertise on Flexible Hybrid Electronics. It’s true to say that there were some fascinating insights into the future! The number, range and possibilities of wearable and healthcare devices was, quite simply, inspirational. Incorporating and integrating flexible, durable biosensors into sportwear for example received lots of interest from attendees.

In a similar vein, Dr Sophie Skach from Queen Mary University of London and NICA’s Rosie Wakely then looked at Wearable technology past, present and future. The possibilities in this field really are endless.

Next to take the stage, was Tom Hillier, Investment Associate from CPI Healthcare who gave a presentation about the  perhaps less glamourous but extremely vital area of Innovation Funding.

It just goes to show what can come out of a day of inspiring speakers, networking opportunities and a shared commitment.
