As Communications and Engagement Manager for the National Innovation Centre for Ageing, George Lee not only pioneers cross-generational innovation but also emphasises the importance of strong storytelling. With over 25 years of experience in design and social entrepreneurship, George has a proven track record of using storytelling to drive societal change and challenge age stereotypes.

Her career highlights include serving as Director of the award- winning design studio, This is Real Art, where she spearheaded numerous globally acclaimed design campaigns. In 2020, she established The Commonland, a specialised consultancy guiding businesses to innovate products and services for all ages by challenging outdated age conventions.

Recognised by Creative Review as one of the top 50 Creative Leaders globally alongside luminaries such as Jude Kelly, Bjork, and Paul Smith for her work challenging age stereotypes with her award-winning social enterprise Age of No Retirement, George advocates for a society where age does not define individuals.

George’s commitment to age innovation also includes setting up the programme of events around wisdom and age at the Design Age Institute, Royal College of Art, hosted at the Design Museum. She hosts the podcast “Age on Trial: What has Age Got To Do With It? In her role at the National Innovation Centre for Ageing, she launched the magazine This Curious Life in 2023, emphasising the importance of curiosity in a world where the 100-year life is reshaping our understanding of age, transitions, and life itself.
